Nebraska Lifespan Respite Network Online Provider Orientation The demand for skilled respite care providers in Nebraska is growing! The purpose of this free orientation is to give you basic information about what to expect as a respite provider. Feel free to start and stop the orientation as needed to fit your schedule. Most are able to complete the orientation in about one hour. Parent Training and Information (PTI) The PTI website has a long list of workshop options and a full calendar (and plenty of resources). All PTI Nebraska’s workshops are available to any group or community upon request and can be adapted for parents, caregivers, students, educators, administrators, and health professionals. The divisional categories are used only to make finding a particular workshop topic easier. The workshops are available in English and Spanish. Alternate formats are available upon request. School-Age Connections A comprehensive, interactive, Internet-based training project providing information about working with school-age children. The training is designed to assist providers in the development and implementation of school-age programming for before and after school, during non-school days, and during summer vacation. The 15 modules cover a wide range of topics, and are designed to be used individually or as a group, as determined by the participant's needs. Each module contains a wealth of information, several interactive activities, and a review, as well as links to additional resources on the topic. Each module will provide two hours of in-service credit (for Nebraska participants) and will take approximately two hours to complete. A certificate of completion can be mailed to Nebraska participants after the completion of each module. To request a certificate, please e-mail tammi.hicken@nebraska.gov. Make sure to specify which module(s) you have completed and give a current mailing address. These training modules are offered to you at no cost.
Medical Meditation Training Medical Meditation is a complete medical system, including nutrition/herbs/etc. A recent advancement now confirms Medical Meditation as a “medical necessity” so it now may be covered by an employer’s health plans. Medical Meditation training is offered by Lyndyn “Sophia” Stratbucker director/founder of The Wellness Connection. It can be done in one session or in sections and for different levels of certification and use. All provide various types of CEUs.
